EMIC’s Testing Machine Calibration Division (DCAME) is a laboratory, which is part of the RBC – Brazilian Calibration Network, accredited by INMETRO.
INMETRO is Brazil’s National Institute for Metrology, Normalization and Industrial Quality. It is a federal autarchy, connected to the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Commerce, and is the principal metrology organization in Brazil.
Presently, INMETRO maintains mutual recognition agreements with members of the ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation), IAAC (Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation) and EA (European Cooperation for Accreditation). Through these agreements, the results of the tests and calibrations performed by laboratories accredited by INMETRO, such as EMIC’s DCAME, are also accepted by all signatory accreditation organisms, which, like INMETRO, must promote the agreements in their own countries, making them known to the regulating authorities, the industries, as well as the importers.
DCAME has also the ISO9001:2000 service certification and is authorized to perform force calibrations of up to 5MN (500 tons) in testing machines with traceability standard.
EMIC is the only Brazilian manufacturer of testing machines that has a laboratory with these credentials for the last and most important phase of the production process: the calibration.
These resources make it possible for EMIC’s machines to leave the plant with official certifications by RBC INMETRO, which guarantee the results of the equipment EMIC manufactures.
In addition to calibration, DCAME renders services at the site of delivery, even before the delivery of the equipment is done. The Brazilian norm NM-ISO-7500 recommends that equipment used in laboratories be calibrated at least once a year. This calibration may be performed sooner than that, should the customer think it necessary.
DCAME may also service equipment that was not manufactured by EMIC, but that depends on an evaluation of the equipment.
The laboratory also has a data bank with the records of all calibrations performed on the equipment, and allows our customers to access these records at any given time, for example, when reliability proof is made necessary during a quality certification audit.

DCAME gives support at the plant, by telephone or email, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Brasilia Time, from Monday to Friday.
To help us attend our customers as fast as possible, we ask them to have in hand the Order Number (NO), Serial Number (NS) and Model of the equipment they own. This information can be found on the identification plaque of the equipment or on its calibration certificate.
