About EMIC > Its History:

EMIC – Equipamentos e Sistemas de Ensaios Ltda – was founded on July 07, 1969, in São Paulo, as a result of the combined effort by Antônio Rodrigues Gallego, the father, and Ivan Rodrigues, the son. Brazil was experiencing a hard military regime, and the persecution of those who supported expression freedom was severe: Brazil was going through uncertain times...

Through hard work, the company came up to meet the market’s demands, and turned into a symbol of Brazilian technology. The 1970’s were a milestone in the civil construction development process in Brazil, and the lack of Brazilian equipment for material quality control led EMIC to invest in the production of presses and testing machines.

In 1992 the company moved to São José dos Pinhais, a city which is a symbol of economic transformation in the state of Paraná, and which has in the industry its main activity. From that point on new paths were beginning to be followed.

The company has supplied thousands of machines to industries and technical educational institutions in Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, Peru, Bolivia and Uruguay, and is also present in the European and Asian markets. The first machines exported to those continents went to France and Thailand in 2003. With the respect of its competitors, EMIC conquered its market share, both in Brazil and abroad.

Among EMIC’s pioneering activities, we may name some important innovations in Brazil:
-         Manufacturing the first electronic extensometers;
-         Manufacturing the first computerized universal testing machines;
-         Producing the first testing software for Microsoft Windows;
-         Manufacturing the first totally Brazilian servo-hydraulic machines;
-         Manufacturing the first totally Brazilian dynamic testing systems.
